North Sea – Sustainable Energy Planning
Project content
The primary focus of the North Sea – Sustainable Energy Planning project was on the specific problems faced by municipalities, districts and regions in developing and implementing measures to increase the share of renewable energy and boost energy efficiency with regard to the European Agenda 2020. European projects dealing with these issues are particularly important in the context of the energy transition process. The tools (e.g. geoinformation systems for planning renewable energies), business models (e.g. for increasing the value chain for electromobility) and studies (e.g. efficiency of solar systems in different European regions) created with the help of the partnership contribute to the planning security of decision-makers. They also increase the knowledge potential for subsequent activities in these areas. These results were supplemented by the implementation and presentation of best and worst practice examples and thus found practical application, further highlighting the aspect of sustainability.
