The jury selected 15 finalists of the European Broadband Awards 2017. Find out who are the nominated projects. The winners will be awarded on 20 November at the Broadband Days 2017.
Altogether 49 projects from 20 countries from all over Europe applied for the European Broadband Awards 2017. The jury composed of five European experts in broadband assessed the projects and selected 15 outstanding examples of broadband rollout in Europe.

Category 4: Socio-economic impact and affordability
- Next Generation Broadband Wales – “Superfast Cymru”, UK
- Coviolo Wireless, Italy
- 100 Mbps for schools on 100th independence anniversary, Poland
Category 5: Openness and competition
- enet’s Open Access Fibre To The Home Deployment in Rural North Kerry, Ireland
- The Helsinki Optical Fibre Cooperative, Finland

The winners of the European Broadband Awards 2017 (one per category) will be announced and awarded at the award ceremony on 20 November during the Broadband Days 2017. The European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel will host the ceremony. Commissioner Gabriel has also invited Corina Crețu (European Commissioner for Regional Policy) and Phil Hogan (European Commissioner for Agriculture & Rural Development) to present the awards in some of the categories.
