At the end of September, project partners of EPIC – improving employability through internationalisation and collaboration – met in Barcelona. Amongst them employees of aconium GmbH.

On 21 and 22 September, the EPIC partner consortium met for the first time to discuss the implementation of planned activities and the financial project handling.
The Erasmus+-funded project EPIC is supposed to improve the labour market relevance of the university curriculum. Eight European universities as well as two companies will work together in three yearly cycles. Case studies, provided by companies, are to lead students towards the needs of today´s economy.
One important topic of the meeting was the identification and preparation of case studies. It was agreed to implement three ways of identifying relevant project proposals:
• In the first constellation, universities will identify relevant research topics that will be developed into concrete case studies when students are interested.
• In the second case, companies will propose actual case studies to the students.
• In the third procedure, universities will develop case studies together with the companies on a bilateral or multilateral basis.
The first results will be evaluated during the next management meeting on 16 November.
In February, the first yearly cycle will start where teachers and students meet for the first time and students are getting prepared for the project work.
aconium GmbH will be responsible for developing teaching material for university staff focusing on problem-based learning (PBL). Moreover, we will be head of the quality committee and be responsible for quality assurance of intellectual outputs.
