Are you involved in a project that gives citizens access to fast broadband internet? Then apply for the European Broadband Awards 2019! All successfully implemented or advanced projects (at least 65% implemented) – whether large or small, in rural or urban areas and regardless of technology – can apply for the awards. The deadline for applications is June 28.
The winners will be announced and awarded prizes by the European Commission in December. All winning projects are then invited to present themselves at the Broadband Days in Brussels. The winners will be presented on the website, in the newsletters and in the European Commission ‘s good practice database.
How and when can projects apply?
Download the application form(xlsx file) and the guidelines for applicants(PDF file). Complete the application (as xlsx file) and submit it by e-mail. The deadline for submitting applications is June 28, 2019, 16:00 CEST.
Award categories
Projects can apply within one of the five categories:
1: Innovative financing, business and investment models
- Projects that use effective and innovative financing, business or investment models can choose this category.
2: Cost-cutting measures and co-investments
- This category is aimed at projects that have implemented measures to exploit synergies between different infrastructures and have sought cooperation between relevant stakeholders in infrastructure construction and investment.
3: Socio-economic impact in rural and remote areas
- This category includes projects with direct and indirect socio-economic impacts and significantly improved connections to and in remote and rural areas.
4: Generating demand and linking to connectivity
- Projects that have implemented measures to stimulate demand and increase the use of services are recognized in this category.
5: Quality and affordability of services
- The category is aimed at projects that focus on providing high quality and affordable services to end users.
