The issue of refugees is currently on everyone´s lips and there are many discussions about integration. According to NetHope, an NGO focussing on improving the world via technical innovations and google.org, the charitable arm of the search engine company, integration can be enhanced by facilitating access to education and information resources on the web. That helps refugees as they strive to rebuild their lives and to connect to their new communities.

This is why Project Reconnect provides Chromebooks to non-profit organizations, working with refugees in Germany. The web-based laptops are based on the Chrome browser. They are also easy to use for those new to computers.

Organisations are encouraged to apply for up to 5.000 Chromebooks until 8 February 2016. Preference will be given to organisations that demonstrate the impact that Chromebooks with internet access will have in providing direct assistance to refugees and facilitating access to critical programs and resources.
