From 18 to 22 April the midway seminar for the Colibri-project took place in Bydgoszcz, Poland. During the five-day seminar the 30 participating students, professors and teachers from the seven partner universities as well as the company representatives from Talaia Networks, Barcelona, NHRF, Greece and aconium came together.

COLIBRI – Collaboration for Better, Personalized and IT-Supported Teaching – is a project funded by Erasmus+. COLIBRI aims at improving the quality of academic teaching material by using innovative approaches such as connecting e-learning with face-to-face courses in an international context. The project is based on a yearly cycle. The first six months, teaching material on the topic “Future Internet Opportunities” is being developed by the teachers and professors. In the second half of the year students of the seven participating universities work on the aforementioned modules and in the second phase of the semester in small international groups on case studies, which are provided by the participating companies.

With the introduction of the case studies the second phase of the semester started during the midway seminar. The eight student groups from various countries will now work on the business-related cases. The results will be presented at the project seminar in July in Barcelona.

In addition to various workshops and presentations, special emphasis was placed on networking and collaboration opportunities for the students.

During the last two days the project partners met for a management meeting. New possibilities of further development – such as learning analytics and a software for preparing teaching material – were introduced and the coming phases of the project discussed. Colibri will run until August 2017.

In the course of Colibri aconium is responsible for the quality assurance and the provision of two case studies.
