Data for All (D4A) brings together 19 partners from different areas and sectors in the North Sea Region (NSR) to share knowledge and experience in dealing with municipal and regional data and to promote innovative solutions for its use.

As part of D4A, a total of seven pilot projects are being implemented in the Smarte KielRegion (DE), Brest Metropole (FR), Intercommunale Leiedal (BE), Province Drenthe (NL), Veijle Kommun (DK), Kungsbacka Kommun (SE) and Eigersund Kommune (NO).

The organizational and technical solutions developed are based on common European standards and are transferable to other municipalities in the North Sea region and in Europe. Transnational cooperation is the key to all activities in D4A, realized through a regular exchange of content in the partner regions organized through various channels. Particularly noteworthy here are the tandem partnerships, in which two pilot projects work together intensively on a relevant topic.

Innovative approaches by the pilot partners

The pilot partners are researching sustainable and innovative approaches in three fundamental project dimensions: Technology, Organization and Regulation / Ethics. The aim is to create a common understanding that inspires and enables the stakeholders to develop strategies and test concrete use cases in their regions.

The pilot projects are being implemented in a wide range of areas relating to the use of municipal data, such as mobility, climate neutrality and business development.

Guidelines for data-driven regional development

The aim is to create a digital exchange and training platform. This so-called “D4A Roadmap” is a useful tool for digital knowledge transfer that provides cities, municipalities and regional authorities with an intuitive, step-by-step guide for initiating, planning, implementing and monitoring data-driven regional development and the provision of public services.

aconium GmbH developed the project together with its long-standing municipal partner Intercommunale Leiedal. It is responsible for project, financial and communication management and plays a central role in the content and conceptual coordination of project activities.
