The #D21NewNormal project is analysing the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic on our working and educational world: five “thought-provoking impulses” have been created that draw future scenarios from the various perspectives of the member organizations of the D21 initiative’s full board, including aconium CEO Tim Brauckmüller.
The pandemic has permanently changed the way we live, work and learn – faster and more radically than any other historical event in the last 50 years. Home office, mobile working, closed schools, virtual living environments: Following the guiding question “What will stay, what will change and what will be the new normal?”, the individual papers provide concrete recommendations for politics, administration and companies. In cooperation with Cornelsen Verlag and the aconium Akademie, education expert Tim Brauckmüller has formulated comprehensive recommendations for action in the fifth paper “The future of education” based on possible development scenarios for the German education landscape: among other things, minimum requirements for IT infrastructure and equipment should be defined through uniform quality standards. In addition, a long-term focus should be placed on the training and further education of teaching staff and trained specialist staff should be given responsibility for essential maintenance and care. “To ensure that schools are adequately prepared in the event of another pandemic, it is important to consolidate a functioning, networked IT infrastructure as the backbone of the educational landscape. Additionally, innovative didactic concepts must be developed and tested by educational specialists to fully exploit the added value of new media,” says Brauckmüller.
