The combustion of fossil fuels produces nitrogen oxides (NOx) as well as other toxic substances. Particularly in regions with high traffic volumes, they lead to severe pollution of the environment and people. The EU has therefore set limit values that have been transposed into national law. In Germany, these limit values are monitored by several hundred measuring stations – particularly at locations with high levels of pollution such as main roads or inner-city junctions.
A new article from aconium GmbH’s “Traffic and Environment“ series of publications examines various measurement methods for checking nitrogen oxide concentrations in the air based on the limit values.
The publication series “Transport and the Environment” takes an interdisciplinary and in-depth look at the topics of transport and the environment. The articles focus on pollution and its consequences, as well as current challenges and trends with regard to environmentally friendly alternative drive systems.
The publication series serves the exchange of knowledge and the professional support of current discourses. The articles are published several times a year at irregular intervals and are available to download free of charge as PDF files.
