Since 19.12.2017, residents of Hilders, Ehrenberg-Reulbach, Thaiden and some districts of Tann have been able to book high-speed Internet connections. Manfred Henning, Branch Manager of aconium GmbH in Wiesbaden, took part in the commissioning of the third expansion cluster together with District Administrator Bernd Woide, representatives of the municipalities and Telekom employees.

Expansion cluster two already went live on November 28. Clusters four to 13 will follow by the end of 2018 – by then, a total of more than 570 kilometers of fiber optics and 245 kilometers of empty conduits will have been installed. A good 10,000 households and over 1,000 companies will then be able to benefit from this, as they will have access to internet speeds of at least 50 Mbit/s. The federal government is contributing 10 million euros to the project.

Two million euros are being provided by the state of Hesse, with the local authorities contributing a further five million euros. District Administrator Bernd Woide was delighted with the next success after pressing the symbolic red switch on site: “The best conditions are now in place not only to live here, but also to work here.”
