For large infrastructure projects, districts and municipalities are usually dependent on financial support from the federal government, the state or investment banks. At the “Funding at a glance” event on January 24 in Gelnhausen, Hesse, companies, associations and citizens were given an overview of the funding programs available in the Main-Kinzig district.

Programs for various eligible projects in the area of infrastructure expansion, in companies or for the tourism industry were explained to around 100 participants. In a keynote speech, Manfred Henning, Regional Manager of aconium GmbH for Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, presented the federal broadband funding program. With this program, the federal government is supporting the expansion of the broadband network in rural regions. The Main-Kinzig district will receive around 4.4 million euros as part of this funding program. Twelve districts throughout Hesse are benefiting from the federal broadband funding program.
