“Germany Digital – Innovative. Sovereign. International”. This is the motto under which the German government is hosting the 18th Digital Summit in Frankfurt am Main today and tomorrow. In addition to more than 1,500 representatives from science, business and civil society, the event will also bring together important participants from politics such as Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Dr. Robert Habeck, and Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport Dr. Volker Wissing. The aim is to discuss the country’s digital future together. Thematically, the summit is divided into eight platforms, on each of which the latest findings will be presented. This will include an analysis of the impact of digitalization on various areas of society. In this context, particular attention will be paid to the networked, data-driven economy, agriculture and food, the digitalization of the world of work, consumer policy and other relevant aspects. We will also be contributing our expertise in this context: On the second day of the event, our experts Andreas Schröder and Eike Gutt will take part in the panel “Gigabit innovations on the track – how does it work?”. As the requirements for high-performance connectivity for passengers on trains and digitalized rail operations are constantly increasing, the panel discussion with representatives from Deutsche Bahn AG, DB InfraGO, Deutsche Telekom and the Association of German Transport Companies will address which joint concepts and projects are being tackled and what opportunities are available to German and European players in international competition in order to realize the synergy potential of innovative digital infrastructures on the track in a fair interaction between all stakeholders.
