On June 26, 2018, aconium opened its regional office for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin. Managing Director of aconium GmbH Tim Brauckmüller and Marc Walter (Regional Manager of aconium for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) welcomed Christian Pegel (Minister for Energy, Infrastructure and Digitization of the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), representatives of the municipalities and numerous stakeholders in broadband expansion in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to the opening ceremony.

“We started 10 years ago and support local authorities with technology-neutral advice,” said Tim Brauckmüller in his address to the guests, adding: “We are delighted that our new regional office means we are now even closer to the stakeholders in the state and will make a committed contribution to the development of digitalisation and regions in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.”

aconium GmbH has been offering consulting services in the areas of regional development, digital infrastructure expansion, mobility, energy and education for over 10 years. Coordination and processing of EU and federal funding, administrative management of funding awards as well as project and financial management and training seminars are also part of the portfolio. In doing so, aconium GmbH works with a cross-sector network of experts from business, science, technology and decision-makers from municipal and supra-regional public institutions throughout Europe.

As the official project management agency of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) for the federal broadband funding programme, aconium GmbH is actively working to accelerate the expansion of digital infrastructure in municipalities and districts. In his speech at the opening of the new regional office in Schwerin, Minister Pegel looked at the tasks ahead for the federal state: “In the future, technological developments such as in the energy sector and broadband will grow together. We need to get a feel for where the hooks and eyelets are and close them together.” He saw the new branch of aconium GmbH as a base station for help and stated: “We can look back on a trusting and helpful collaboration with aconium GmbH over the last few years.”

After the introduction of the aconium GmbH staff at the office, the guests had the opportunity to get to know the employees in a personal exchange. The new regional office in Schwerin enables short routes to advice, information and project support. The Schwerin team directly supports stakeholders from administration, business, science and politics in the development and implementation of future-oriented development strategies for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
