In the new video series “DEUTSCHLAND DIGITAL! Success Stories of Digitisation”, aconium GmbH visits companies and municipalities throughout Germany that have introduced digital processes and thus made digitalisation a success. This improves the quality of life for citizens, simplifies the day-to-day work of employees and strengthens Germany as a business location.
Our video format aims to raise awareness of the digital transformation and sensitise municipalities and entrepreneurs to the topic of digitaliation. Following the successful launch of the first two episodes, we visited the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse in the third part of our video series. The “Telenotarzt” pilot project was launched in Gelnhausen/Dort in 2017. An emergency doctor from the rescue control center is connected directly to the ambulance by telephone and video and accompanies the initial treatment of the patient. The emergency doctor can track all important data such as ECG and other vital signs in the control center in real time and provide the paramedics on site with important information or decide whether an emergency doctor needs to be called. This ensures faster and better patient care. One emergency doctor in the control center can attend to up to four ambulances at the same time. This ensures that the fastest and most appropriate help is always on site, even in rural areas. The federal government is supporting the expansion of the broadband network in rural regions with the federal broadband funding programme. Twenty districts throughout Hesse (as well as the state capital) benefit from the federal broadband funding, including the Main-Kinzig district. The expansion of the high-speed Internet made it possible for the tele-emergency doctor to be deployed around 200 times. The Main-Kinzig district is an example of how nationwide coverage with high-speed Internet can have a positive impact on the development of an entire region.
