aconium, represented by Managing Partner Tim Brauckmüller and Alla Dmytriieva, Head of the new regional office in Kiev, is delighted about the successful, goal-oriented and constructive talks with key decision-makers in Ukraine that took place in Kiev at the beginning of November.
Following the presidential and parliamentary elections, a spirit of optimism can be felt in the country. Ukraine’s new cabinet of ministers has set out on the path to digitalisation. The most important task is initially the active expansion of broadband throughout the country, accompanied by the implementation and development of digital infrastructure in the transport sector. The new Ukrainian cabinet of ministers is also focusing on the development of a complete smart city and e-government. All of these topics were discussed in numerous meetings with high-ranking officials and politicians. Speaking to aconium Managing Director Tim Brauckmüller, the First Deputy Minister of Economy, Pavio Kukhta, emphasised the need for professional expertise from aconium GmbH.
The head of the state property fund, Dmytro Sennychenko, also appreciates the cooperation with a German company – aconium GmbH. At the meeting with the new Minister of Infrastructure, Vladislav Kryklii, cooperation in the introduction of information technology in the transport sector in Ukraine was discussed. Vladislav Kryklii emphasised that the Ministry of Infrastructure is actively working on the implementation and development of digital infrastructure in the transport sector: “We are maximising the digitalisation of all processes and services in the transport sector of Ukraine.
The “State in a Smartphone” programme should become a convenient service for companies and citizens,” said Vladislav Kriklii. Ukraine’s newly established Ministry of Digital Infrastructure also made it clear in discussions with Managing Director Tim Brauckmüller and the experts from aconium GmbH what major goals Ukraine is pursuing on the path to successful digitalisation. The Deputy Minister for Digital Infrastructure, Oleksander Shelest, emphasised that all transport infrastructure, settlements and social facilities should have access to high-speed internet in the next 3 to 5 years. For Shelest, it is particularly important to benefit from the German experience and to draw on the expertise of aconium GmbH, especially with regard to general broadband expansion and the establishment of a national broadband office. In this context, it is also important for the Ministry to create legislation in the area of digital infrastructure regulation that meets European requirements. During the meeting, agreements were reached on the exchange of information and the consideration of experiences. A further continuation of the cooperation was agreed. aconium Managing Director Tim Brauckmüller was particularly pleased about another meeting with Kiev’s mayor and former world boxing champion Vitali Klitschko. Klitschko had already agreed to work with Brauckmüller in Berlin in 2018. At the current meeting, both emphasised the need to continue the good start and to work together on the expansion of the Smart City and the further development of the Kiev data center. Finally, the aconium GmbH delegation visited Ukraine’s first innovation park, UNIT.City. Here, aconium GmbH will officially open the Kiev regional office at the beginning of 2020. In this context, Tim Brauckmüller discussed further cooperation with Dominique Piotet, CEO of UNIT.City: the possible establishment of a global ecosystem of innovation parks, in which the Europe-wide connections of aconium GmbH could be used in partnership. With the opening of the office in Ukraine, aconium GmbH emphasises its intention to actively support the digitalisation of the country and to continue cooperation with the country’s public sector.
