As from the 17th of May 2016, the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure appointed aconium, an Agency for Communication, Organization and Management to be the official promoter of the development program “Bundesförderprogramm Breitband”. The program aims at giving access to 50 Mbps broadband internet connectivity to every German household. The Federal Government and the Länder make more than 2 billion Euro available to be spent on consulting services and the infrastructure projects.
