This time, the regular meeting was hosted by the University of Groningen, which is why the focus was particularly on project implementation with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Netherlands. Marc Cremers from the Economic Board of Groningen Initiative and Joris Bisschop from Technologies Added B.V. were invited as regional stakeholders.
Marc Cremers presented the possible applications of 5G in connection with smart farming to the project partners and emphasized the need for digitization of small and medium-sized enterprises. Joris Bisschop also gave an exciting presentation on market trends with regard to digitalization and the advantages of a digital backbone for companies. Furthermore, the 12 project partners from Sweden, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany discussed the current project status and the cooperation with the regional SMEs. Each partner country accompanies SMEs on their way to a data-based way of working, which enables companies to optimize their work processes and ultimately save time and money.
The tools developed in the project partnership play a central role alongside workshop and webinar offerings. Companies can find an overview of the tools on the online hub www.futuresbydesign.net, where information on future-relevant topics such as artificial intelligence, drones and virtual currencies is also published on an ongoing basis. The next partner meeting is planned for mid-December 2021 in Bremen and will be organized by aconium GmbH. Together with the Swedish Alexanderson Institute, aconium GmbH is responsible for communication management as part of Futures By Design and is responsible for implementing the content with SMEs in north-west Germany.
