The project partners met in Berlin at the beginning of December to make preparations for the final year of the project. EPIC has set itself the goal of better preparing students for the job market through practical learning.

To this end, companies contribute case studies to the project, which are implemented by students from at least two different European study locations. In the third and final year of the project, all case studies will focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. During the meeting in Berlin, the submitted case studies were discussed and the interested students were divided into international groups.

aconium GmbH is contributing the case study “Carbon footprint of companies”. The aim is to develop a tool that can be used to analyze thecarbon footprint of companies. Students from Spain, Norway, the Netherlands and Turkey will work on this case study together. In February 2020, the students, their teachers and the EPIC project team will meet for a one-week seminar in Hamburg. There, the participating students and teachers will receive tools to successfully implement the work on the case studies. The collaboration between the students and the companies is mainly virtual.

The aconium also supports the creation of teaching materials to make it easier for university lecturers to collaborate with companies in international projects. By the end of the project in August 2020, the EPIC partners will make the concepts and methods developed for international, interdisciplinary and virtual collaboration available to the European specialist public.
