A seminar week of the Erasmus+ project EPIC will take place in Barcelona from 11 to 15 February 2019. Over five days, students and teachers will take part in workshops on problem-based learning, transnational cooperation and project development and implementation. For the 35 students this is the first direct meeting with their team members. For EPIC it is the official start into the second year.

Prior to this, companies had the opportunity to submit case studies again. Students from EPIC’s partner universities were invited to apply. Within the framework of EPIC, it is possible to prepare project papers, bachelor or master theses on these case studies and thus gain practical experience. aconium also made two projects available for processing.

Seven international teams emerged from the application and selection process. They now work on urban farming, autonomous driving, computer networks, cyber security, smart city, software development and virtual reality.

With the help of EPIC materials, teams of at least two students from different universities are currently familiarizing themselves with the projects and preparing for the official launch. The seminar in Barcelona is not only an exchange of content, but also serves to get to know the team members personally.

We are looking forward to an exciting week and to supporting the students and teachers with experiences in project work from an entrepreneurial point of view.

Background:

The Erasmus+ project EPIC (Improving Employability through Internationalisation and Collaboration) prepares students for the job market. Using the problem-based learning method, participants work on case studies provided by companies in small international teams. The focus of the practice-oriented learning approach is self-determined, discovering learning. The close integration of academic teaching with entrepreneurial reality is a key objective of EPIC. The 35 students in the current project phase come from eight universities in eight European countries.
