The results of the Stronghouse project in the Interreg North Sea program are intended to reduce the ecological footprint of houses in the North Sea region, generate investment andsave CO2 .
To achieve this goal, homeowners and neighborhoods must be encouraged to invest in the energy-efficient renovation of their homes. As a project partner, aconium GmbH developed a free e-learning course series aimed at stakeholders such as energy consultants, local and regional administrations, NGOs and banks so that they can understand and respond to the individual circumstances of homeowners.
Although there are already national approaches to support measures in the Member States, investments by individual owners in the energy efficiency of their residential buildings are still insufficient. The effects of support measures for homeowners are limited because, for example, the financing programs are geared towards individual measures and do not sufficiently address individual needs and conditions. With the help of the eight courses, people working in the field of energy transition can motivate and support homeowners in implementing renovation measures in a targeted manner. What obstacles do they encounter when searching for information on renovation measures? What financing and loan programs are available? The courses are designed to train people to translate political strategies and statements into concrete support measures for homeowners. In doing so, the course series teaches how owners can be made aware of the challenges of energy-efficient renovation and what assistance can be used to overcome them.
The course series thus supports homeowners throughout their entire journey, from initial interest to planning, financing and awarding contracts for energy-efficient refurbishment measures, paving the way for sustainable living not only in the North Sea region.
