As an entrusted project management agency for the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, aconium GmbH regularly organizes and supports workshops for recipients of the federal broadband funding programme. On December 7, the Broadband Competence Center of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia(Breitband.NRW) invited to Duisburg and on December 12, the North location of aconium GmbH invited to Osterholz-Scharmbeck.

The workshops for grant recipients highlight the various steps in the funding process, in particular the applications and documents required to receive provisional and final funding notifications. As the project sponsor, aconium GmbH provides funding and supports the applicants with appropriate information material, including on how to apply for funding. The various information sheets and handouts are available after submitting the application via the central online platform www.breitbandausschreibungen.de in a specially designated area for grant recipients.

These are explained and individual questions clarified in workshops such as those held in Duisburg and Osterholz-Scharmbeck. One focus is on the selection process for grant recipients, which is used in the final planning of their broadband expansion project. In addition, the requirements for the subsequent request for funds after completion of construction and the procedure for payment of state funding (by the project sponsor on the basis of proven eligible expenditure) will be explained.

The workshop for funding recipients at the Broadband Competence Center of North Rhine-Westphalia was opened by Klaus Stratmann before Stefan Seidenglanz (Head of the Paying Agent, aconium GmbH), the project manager of the central online platform Marc Kastner and Lea Tautz (Legal and Regulation) informed the participants about the next steps in the funding process. At the workshop in Osterholz-Scharmbeck, branch manager Stefan Molkentin welcomed the participants and Michael Krüger (Legal and Regulatory Affairs) and Stefan Seidenglanz led through the rest of the event.

The participants of both workshops for grant recipients found the event helpful, especially for individual questions, and engaged in lively and constructive discussions with each other and with the representatives of the project management organization. Further workshops will follow at the beginning of next year at the North site and at other branches of aconium GmbH.
