- Cross-thematic infrastructure atlas of the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport is now online
- Comprehensive information available on various aspects of the infrastructure
- Future-oriented planning possible
The future is upon us and a strong, reliable and sustainable infrastructure is crucial to actively shaping it. This can only be realized on the basis of precise information. For this reason, the Saxon State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport has commissioned aconium GmbH to develop the interdisciplinary infrastructure atlas and create the corresponding data basis. The Infrastructure Atlas, ISA Saxony for short, was published last week and presented to the public on November 29 as part of this year’s Gigabit Summit Saxony. Since its publication, the ISA Saxony has provided innovative solutions for regional challenges and will establish itself as a valuable tool.
The aim of this innovative project is to provide comprehensive information on various aspects of infrastructure and at the same time take a holistic view of the challenges and opportunities facing our society.
“The Saxony Infrastructure Atlas has been successfully implemented as a modern geoinformation system and makes an important contribution to sustainable and future-proof infrastructure. The comprehensive data offers citizens, companies and administration valuable insights and enables well-founded decisions and coordinated planning processes for future infrastructure development.”
In addition to aspects that can affect the broadband network, the infrastructure atlas contains additional information on potential threats from forest fires and flooding as well as traffic restrictions. Furthermore, locations for services of general interest such as healthcare facilities, e-charging stations, coworking spaces, digital laboratories and technology or start-up centers are presented.
Main features of the cross-thematic infrastructure atlas:
Comprehensive infrastructure data: The atlas contains extensive data on broadband expansion, communication networks, transportation networks, energy supply, water supply and other key infrastructure elements. It visualizes the changes in infrastructure over time and creates status reports using community and project profiles. Integrated monitoring provides a comprehensive overview of the progress of funding projects in Saxony.
Geographical representation: Using the latest geoinformation technology and cartography, the data is visualized in clear and interactive maps to enable an easy-to-understand analysis of the infrastructure in the Free State of Saxony.
Sustainability assessment: The infrastructure atlas provides important information about various protected areas in the Free State of Saxony. The integration of nature conservation areas gives citizens a clear insight into the importance of these areas for the environment. The system provides important information on location and biodiversity and raises awareness for the preservation of sensitive ecosystems.
Interactive platform: The atlas is accessible via a user-friendly online platform, which is divided into thematic blocks such as “Supply situation”, “Infrastructure measures” and “Promotion and planning”. Users can search for specific information and analyze specific regions. This ensures that the knowledge of citizens and companies is always up to date.
Future-oriented planning: The infrastructure atlas provides decision-makers, urban planners, entrepreneurs and citizens with valuable insights to make informed decisions about future infrastructure development and accelerate planning processes.
The cross-thematic infrastructure atlas will be an essential resource for government agencies, businesses, non-governmental organizations and the general public looking for solutions to upcoming challenges in the areas of digitalization, urbanization, climate change, population growth and technological progress.
